Generating low cost energy in high value markets that lack infrastructure.
Carter Wind Turbines manufactures medium-size wind turbines (300 & 500 kW) that are self-erecting, portable, and designed for distributed and micro-grid power generation applications in remote, extreme environment locations that are not viable with conventional wind turbine technologies.
Carter medium-size turbines are especially well-suited for areas that lack access infrastructure – rail, pipelines, roads, or transmission – and require communities to rely on high-cost diesel power due to logistical, environmental, and/or infrastructure constraints that impede construction of conventional multi-MW turbines.
Having proven its exceptional reliability in harsh tropical and arctic conditions, Carter’s Model 300 turbine is one of the most versatile and modern wind turbine designs on the market today. It is especially suitable for low to medium wind speed sites. And because it’s compact and portable, the entire turbine assembly can be shipped in a standard cargo container anywhere in the world, and can be erected in just one day without the need for cranes. Cheaper to ship. Easier to install. Less costly to maintain.
Based on the proven reliability of our Model 300 wind turbine, the Model 500 is a powerful and efficient turbine specifically designed to optimize medium to high wind sites without comprising the robust design features required for installation in some of the harshest tropical and arctic conditions. The Model 500 is ideal for stand-alone wind diesel or single turbine installation applications for industry and small wholesale power projects that require the lowest cost of energy.
